Mr. Auto Glass replaces and repairs windshields, door glass and back glass at your home, office or job site anywhere in Tampa, usually the day after you call. We are based in Oldsmar, twenty minutes up the Courtney Campbell, and Tampa is our second-busiest city. Phones are answered 24 hours a day at (866) 300-5013.
Who replaces windshields in Tampa?
We do, and we have since 2010. Mr. Auto Glass is an independent, family-owned auto glass shop, under new ownership since February 2025. Our technicians come to you with the glass, the urethane and the calibration equipment, so you never have to sit in a waiting room.
Where in Tampa do you go?
All of it. In the last few weeks alone we have worked in Downtown and Channelside, Westshore, South Tampa and Palma Ceia, Carrollwood, Town ‘n’ Country, New Tampa and Tampa Palms, Ybor and East Tampa, Brandon and Riverview. Driveways, office parking lots, apartment garages with clearance, warehouse yards and fleet lots all work. You need a flat, safe place to park and about an hour and a half for a windshield.
How fast?
Usually the next day. Windshields are ordered by VIN or plate from the distributor, so if you call before 2:30 PM we can normally have the exact glass on the van and a technician at your Tampa address the following day. Same-day happens only in special circumstances, and we will tell you plainly if it is not possible rather than promise it and miss.
Will my insurance cover it?
If you carry comprehensive coverage on a Florida policy, Florida law (Statute 627.7288) says your windshield is replaced with no deductible. We verify your coverage, file the claim and bill the insurer directly. You do not sign your claim over to us; Florida ended assignment of benefits for auto glass in 2023, and we work with you and your insurer the honest way. If you do not carry comprehensive, we quote a cash price up front.
My car has a camera behind the mirror
Most do now. Lane keeping, adaptive cruise, automatic braking and similar systems look through the windshield, and the camera has to be recalibrated after the glass is replaced. We do the recalibration ourselves, including Teslas. About two out of every three jobs we schedule include a recalibration, so it is routine for us, not an add-on we send you elsewhere for.
Repair or replace?
If the chip is smaller than a quarter and not in the driver’s direct line of sight, usually a repair, about thirty minutes at your location. Long cracks, edge cracks and damage in front of the camera need a replacement. Send a photo and we will tell you which before we schedule anything.
Fleet and work vehicles
Cargo vans, pickups and box trucks are a normal part of our week in Tampa. We can come to your yard, work around your dispatch schedule and bill however your office needs it.
What we do not do
We are a glass shop. No window tint, no sunroof motors or tracks, no power window regulators, no body work or mechanical repair, and no RVs, semis, boats or home windows. If your problem is one of those, we will say so and point you to the right shop.
Warranty
Every windshield we install carries a lifetime warranty on our workmanship and on manufacturer defects in the glass. New road damage is not covered by the warranty, but it may be covered by your comprehensive insurance.
