Windshield Replacement in St. Petersburg, FL

Mr. Auto Glass is based in Oldsmar, about 30 to 45 minutes from St. Petersburg, depending on traffic. We replace and repair windshields, door glass and back glass at your home, office or parking spot anywhere in St. Petersburg, usually the day after you call. Phones are answered 24 hours a day at (866) 300-5013.

Who replaces windshields in St. Petersburg?

We do, and we have since 2010. Mr. Auto Glass is an independent, family-owned auto glass shop, under new ownership since February 2025. Our technicians drive to you with the glass, the urethane and the calibration equipment in the van, so you do not need to bring the car anywhere.

Can you come to my house or office in St. Petersburg?

Yes. Mobile service is how most of our St. Petersburg jobs get done. We regularly work in downtown, central and north St. Pete, the Gateway area, west St. Pete and Coquina Key, plus Pinellas Park, Gulfport, St. Pete Beach and Seminole next door. You need a flat, safe place to park and about an hour and a half for a windshield. Driveways, office lots and apartment parking all work.

How fast can you replace my windshield in St. Petersburg?

Usually the next day. Windshields are ordered by VIN or plate from the distributor, so if you call before 2:30 PM we can normally have the exact glass on the van and a technician at your location the following day. Same-day happens only in special circumstances, and we will tell you plainly if it is not possible rather than promise it and miss.

Will my insurance cover a windshield in St. Petersburg?

If you carry comprehensive coverage on a Florida policy, Florida law (Statute 627.7288) says your windshield is replaced with no deductible. We verify your coverage, file the claim and bill the insurer directly. You do not sign your claim over to us; Florida ended assignment of benefits for auto glass in 2023, and we work the honest way, with you and your insurer. If you do not carry comprehensive, we quote a cash price up front.

My car has a camera behind the mirror. Do you handle that?

Yes, in-house. Lane keeping, adaptive cruise, automatic braking and similar systems look through the windshield, and the camera needs to be recalibrated after the glass is replaced. We do the recalibration ourselves as part of the job, including Teslas, so you are not sent to a dealer afterward.

Can my windshield be repaired instead of replaced?

If the chip is smaller than a quarter and not in the driver’s direct line of sight, usually yes, and a repair takes about thirty minutes at your location. Long cracks, edge cracks and damage in front of the camera need a replacement. Send us a photo and we will tell you which one it is before we schedule anything.

What do you need from me?

Your license plate number or VIN, a photo of the damage, your address in St. Petersburg and your insurance company if you plan to use coverage. That is enough for us to pull the exact glass, confirm the price and book the appointment.

What we do not do

We are a glass shop. We do not do window tint, sunroof motors or tracks, power window regulators, body work or any mechanical repair. We do not work on RVs, semis, boats or home windows. If your problem is one of those, we will say so and point you to the right kind of shop.

Warranty

Every windshield we install carries a lifetime warranty on our workmanship and on manufacturer defects in the glass. New road damage, like another rock strike, is not covered by the warranty, but it may be covered by your comprehensive insurance.
